Jam a Pebble

Words by Ian Barlow and Gary Wilkinson
Music by The Dig

Do you have a fear of heights,
High up on your Ferris wheel?
Do stay out when you're told,
And wander in the woods alone?
Jam a pebble, break the stone
near the river by the brook.
Gears are grinding and I am finding
that strange things have occurred.
Going places and seeing faces
but sunken in the world.
Got to push a mountain before the break of dawn.
Wont you come with me?

And float into the heart of the sun
Heed the heartbreaks that you embrace
Rest your head on this cloud
Things will change...

Don't you see the world will be
The answers that you seek.
Don't you care that you will bear
The problem on your shoulders?
Jam a pebble, break the stone
Near the river by the brook.
Jokers dont joke or hungry man choke,
Strange things occurred.
Flowers are dying and widows are crying,
stuck inside the earth.
Do you tell lies or deceive with you eyes.
Why do you deceive me?

I'll drift into the heart of the sun.
Heal the heartbreaks that you embrace.
Rest your head on this cloud.
Things will change...

The beams of light that give you sight will never the fire you see.
It's burning so bright into the night one more breathe, there's
nothing
left.

I'm away in a day where the ace of spades
Play in time; I'll be in line
And the reason to float or sink will find
Nothing left to dream about
Mindlessly I wonder where I am
As shade of night lifts for light

Every now and then I find the best things in life are kind
To me, when I say hello, how are you?
This babbling brook it stands alone. Jams a pebble and breaks a stone,
Like me, it's always been that way.
As wicked dreams of basement trees fill me till I'm on my knees
And down for the count.
The tools that fix this wily dog are found in the coming fog.
I know it will change. Lord knows it will change

I am Mr. Discontinued lying broken on your bedroom floor.
I am Mr. Discontinued still searching for the back door.
I am Mr. Discontinued but I'm discontinued never more.
